We all love the build-up and anticipation surrounding celebrity wedding dresses. Whenever one of our favourite famous people announces their engagement, we can’t wait to see what they’ll choose to wear on the big day.

While some celebs have kept their wedding, and their outfit choice, under wraps, others have shown off their wedding dresses to the world. And of the celebrity wedding dresses that the public have had the pleasure of seeing, many have gone down in history and are still inspiring brides-to-be years later.

Here are some of the most unforgettable celebrity wedding dresses. Which ones do you remember, and which will inspire your wedding dress?

Kate Middleton’s Magical Masterpiece

Kate Middleton’s dress is one most of us will never forget. Millions tuned in to watch Kate and William’s royal wedding in 2011, and many of us were blown away by Kate’s beautiful gown. Nearly a decade later, it’s still one of the most talked-about celebrity wedding dresses.

The Alexander McQueen dress, designed by Sarah Burton, was covered in lace details and featured long, sheer lace sleeves that resembled Queen Elizabeth II’s dress. With a narrow bodice, A-line skirt and flowing 9-foot train, the dress flattered Kate’s figured and blended royal traditions and modern style to create a contemporary fairytale wedding dress.

Kim Kardashian’s Classy Cutout

None of us knew what to expect from Kim Kardashian’s wedding dress when she announced her engagement to Kanye West. But the gown she later revealed impressed (and perhaps surprised) us all.

Kim has been known to show off some risque outfits in her time, but her 2014 lace mermaid gown was classy and contemporary. The dress featured sheer lace inserts, floral details and a cutout back.

It’s estimated that Kim’s Givenchy wedding gown cost up to $500,000. Still, if you’re hoping to replicate her style, it’s possible to find your own Kim Kardashian wedding dress without spending megabucks.

Kate Moss’s Enchanting Gown

Kate Moss’s vintage-inspired wedding dress drew design ideas from the 1920s and 30s. The dress featured a white, opaque body section, that ended with a zig-zag cut, resembling a Tinkerbell dress. Where this opaque section ended, the sheer overlaying skirt swept down the floor and into a train.

The dress used lace embroidery, gold sequins, rhinestones and beading. These details worked their way up the dress, creating an ethereal appearance. One of the guests described Kate’s dress as like something out of a fairy garden.
